Title: “Nervous System Plasticity following Musculoskeletal Injuries: How we can use them to optimize our rehabilitation protocols.”
Contents:
Lower limb joint injury damages proprioceptive sensory organs around the joints and affects the neuromuscular control system in the central nerve. Nervous system abnormalities associated with joint injuries are known to affect people's healthy life span. In this lecture, we will take up the latest evidence concerning nervous-induced mental and physical function deterioration due to joint injury and living activity restriction and central nervous plasticity (ability to flexibly change functions/roles depending on the situation). In addition, we will explain the rehabilitation aimed at maximizing the plasticity of the central nervous system, actively combining the experience of medical personnel, patient's interests, and values, and positively restoring function.
